Agartala, Oct 16 – Tripura’s Chief Minister Manik Saha, accompanied by his wife Swapna, set out on a spiritual tour of Ayodhya this Thursday. They first stopped at the Hanuman Garhi Temple before moving on to the newly completed Ram Mandir to meet the infant deity, Ram Lalla.
Saha told reporters that he had long dreamt of seeing Ram Lalla’s darshan, but heavy crowds had kept him away before. “The crowds made my earlier visits impossible,” he said in a post on Facebook. “Now, at last, I could meet the divine baby.” The chief minister also prayed for “divine blessings, happiness and prosperity” for Tripura.
The RM’s visit came at a time when the Ram Mandir’s completion marks a milestone for the region. “Diwali celebrated the return of Lord Ram to Ayodhya with Sita,” Saha added. “I extend my congratulations to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for making this historic miracle possible.”
During his stop at Hanuman Garhi, Saha prayed for the welfare of Tripura and the country. He then headed to Ram Lalla’s shrine, where he thanked the divine child and asked for blessings for the people of his state.
His visit also included a welcome for residents of Uttar Pradesh, which he encouraged to visit the Tripura Sundari Temple, one of the 51 Shakti Peethas sacred to Hindus. “We will also pray for the well‑being of the people of Ayodhya,” he said, underscoring an ongoing emphasis on inter‑state religious solidarity.
The trip—an act of devotion and public outreach—firmly positions Tripura in the broader national narrative surrounding the Ram Mandir and the spirit of Diwali.
