In a dramatic police encounter in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, two men suspected of firing shots at Bollywood actor Disha Patani’s family home in Bareilly have been killed. The incident happened on Wednesday, bringing a quick end to a shocking case that had the nation on edge.

The suspects, Ravindra from Rohtak and Arun from Sonipat, belonged to a dangerous transnational gang led by Canada-based gangster Goldy Brar. Officials say this shootout marks a big win against Brar’s growing network in Uttar Pradesh.

It all started in the early hours of September 12, around 3:45 am, when gunfire echoed through the quiet Civil Lines area of Bareilly. Bullets hit Disha Patani’s ancestral residence, where her father—a retired Deputy Superintendent of Police named Jagdish Singh Patani—her mother, and elder sister Khushbu were inside. Thankfully, no one got hurt, but the attack sent shockwaves through the neighborhood.

Just hours later, Goldy Brar took to social media to claim responsibility. In a viral post, he said the firing was revenge for comments he claimed Disha Patani and her sister made against religious figures Sant Premanand Maharaj and Aniruddhacharya. The message included direct threats and named several of his gang associates.

Acting on solid intelligence, a joint team from Uttar Pradesh’s Special Task Force Noida unit and Delhi Police’s Crime Intelligence Unit tracked the suspects to Ghaziabad. When officers tried to stop them, the duo opened fire. Police fired back in self-defense, hitting both men badly. They rushed the suspects to a hospital, but doctors declared them dead on arrival.

One Delhi Police officer also got injured in the fierce exchange, but he’s now out of danger and recovering well.

This encounter is a major breakthrough in the fight against Goldy Brar’s gang, which has been trying to spread its influence across Uttar Pradesh. For now, security around Disha Patani’s Bareilly home has been beefed up, and investigators are digging deeper into the gang’s wider connections to prevent more trouble.
