In Begusarai, Bihar, Union Minister Giriraj Singh fired sharp criticism at AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi on Friday, accusing him of stirring up Muslims and pushing for civil war in India alongside the Congress party.

Talking to , Singh called Owaisi a Muslim leader who fans tensions. “He incites Muslims. He and Congress want civil war and nothing else,” Singh said. “They’re in favor of Gazwa-e-Hind and aim to break up the country. This won’t happen. Our ancestors made a mistake back in 1947. If they’d sent people like Owaisi to Pakistan and brought Hindus from there, he wouldn’t even be born here.”

Singh’s comments came just before Owaisi’s election rally in Begusarai. The AIMIM leader is touring Bihar from September 24 to 27 to rally support for his party ahead of the state assembly elections.

Earlier this week, Singh claimed Owaisi’s Bihar rallies are all about shielding infiltrators. On Tuesday, he linked the visit to recent moves by opposition leaders Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Yadav during their Voter Adhikar Yatra. “A few days ago, Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Yadav went on a journey to protect SIR—meaning infiltrators,” Singh told . “Now Owaisi is coming. These people want to save all the Bangladeshis and Rohingyas.”

Singh also highlighted the NDA government’s efforts for Bihar’s Muslim community under Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He pointed to initiatives like fencing graveyards and giving stipends to Muslim girls and boys. “What Nitish Kumar and Narendra Modi have done for Muslims is unmatched in India’s history,” Singh said. “Did Lalu Yadav fence graveyards or provide those stipends? They’re just here to provoke trouble—what justice can they really offer?”

Bihar heads to the polls for its legislative assembly later this year, though the Election Commission hasn’t set dates yet.
