In a related development, Leader of Opposition Sunil Sharma in the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly toured the cloudburst-struck Gadhgaram area in Rajgarh Tehsil, Ramban district. Tragically, this disaster claimed five lives, leaving the community in shock. Sharma met with grieving families, promising full backing from the central government and the local administration under Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha. "The government stands committed to providing relief and rehabilitation for everyone hit by the cloudburst and flash floods," he said, stressing efforts to help people rebuild their lives after such Jammu and Kashmir cloudburst incidents.

Search teams are working tirelessly to find missing persons, while officials distribute essential relief materials like food, water, and shelter to affected residents. The heavy rainfall in Jammu and Kashmir has swollen rivers, triggering flash flood-like situations across districts including Ramban.

Land Subsidence Adds to Panic in Ramban District’s Tanger Area

The troubles don’t end there. In Tanger, Ramban district, relentless rains have caused land subsidence, cracking several houses and sparking widespread fear. The administration has labeled the zone unsafe and urged people to leave their homes temporarily for safety.

Ramban MLA Arjun Singh Raju shared the grim details with : "There’s real panic in the air. We got calls last night about the land sinking, and by morning, it had subsided by 1 to 1.5 feet. Cracks have appeared in about 20-25 houses." He added that his team inspected the site and assured locals that the government will arrange safe relocations and support.

Authorities in Jammu and Kashmir are keeping a close watch on the weather and flood risks, aiming to curb more damage from these ongoing heavy rains. As the region recovers from cloudbursts and floods, community resilience shines through, but experts warn of more challenges ahead if the rains persist. Stay tuned for updates on Jammu and Kashmir flood relief efforts.
