In Uttar Pradesh’s Bareilly, tensions boiled over on Friday with violent protests sparked by alleged derogatory remarks against Prophet Muhammad. Demonstrators held “I Love Muhammad” posters during a sit-in after namaz, leading to stone-pelting and clashes with police. This unrest hits hard as the state gears up for Navratri and Dussehra festivals, putting extra pressure on security.
BJP MP Jagdambika Pal addressed the chaos on Saturday, stressing the Yogi Adityanath-led government’s tough line on law and order. “Anyone trying to stir trouble during this holy Navratri season should know Uttar Pradesh has zero tolerance for it,” Pal told . “We won’t let riots hide behind religious pretexts.”
Shifting focus to positive news, Pal praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s virtual launch of Bihar’s Mukhyamantri Mahila Udyami Yojana on Friday. The program puts Rs 10,000 directly into the bank accounts of 7.5 million women across Bihar, boosting women’s self-reliance and small business dreams. “Our vision is clear—we’re all about governance and growth,” Pal said, taking a jab at opposition parties. He pointed out their infighting, like Tejashwi Yadav clashing with Congress and Owaisi, all while pushing “appeasement politics.” Ahead of Bihar elections, Pal noted the opposition still can’t pick a chief ministerial candidate, while BJP empowers women right now.
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Deputy CM Samrat Choudhary joined the event live from Patna. Originally set for September 22, it got rescheduled to feature Modi’s virtual address, underscoring BJP’s drive for women’s empowerment in Bihar.
The scheme offers even more support: Women can earn an extra Rs 2 lakh after six months if their businesses perform well. They can invest in fields like agriculture, tailoring, animal husbandry, weaving, or handicrafts. Modi didn’t hold back on criticism either, urging Bihar voters to recall the “lantern era” of the old RJD government—a nod to their party symbol and rocky past.
