In Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, the Vishwa Hindu Raksha Parishad organized a special hawan and pooja on Saturday to pray for Team India’s success in their big Asia Cup 2025 clash against Pakistan. The high-stakes India vs Pakistan match is set for Sunday at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, marking the first time the teams face off since the tragic Pahalgam terror attack.
Gopal Rai, National President of Vishwa Hindu Raksha Parishad, urged everyone to rally behind the Indian cricket team. “India has always won, and India will always win,” he declared. He highlighted how Prime Minister Narendra Modi avenged the Pahalgam killings through Operation Sindoor, striking back at Pakistan. Despite some protests against the match, Rai emphasized the importance of playing. “If we don’t compete, how will the world see India’s strength to beat Pakistan in one go? We’re fully supporting our Indian cricketers,” he added.
This Group A fixture in the Asia Cup 2025 promises plenty of drama, as both sides enter on a high after strong opening wins. India crushed hosts UAE by nine wickets in their debut game, while Pakistan dominated Hong Kong China by 93 runs. The outcome could decide who advances to the Super Four stage in the Asia Cup cricket tournament.
On the flip side, tensions are running high back home. Women workers from Shiv Sena (UBT) protested in Mumbai on Sunday, opposing India’s participation in the India-Pakistan Asia Cup match. The party had earlier called for a boycott of the Dubai showdown. Opposition voices have demanded skipping the game amid the recent terror attack, but the Indian government has given the green light for the team to play in multi-nation events like the Asia Cup 2025. Cricket fans are buzzing—will India continue their winning streak against arch-rivals Pakistan?
