Uttar Pradesh Police Conducts Over 10,000 Encounters in 6 Years, 63 Criminals Killed

Lucknow, March 17 (LatestNewsX.com) : The Yogi Adityanath-led government in Uttar Pradesh has claimed that they have conducted more than 10,000 encounters between the police and criminals in the state over the past six years, resulting in the death of 63 criminals. According to the official release, a police personnel had also been martyred during these encounters.

Highest number of Encounters in Meerut

Meerut tops the state with the highest number of encounters since 2017, with 3,152 encounters resulting in the death of 63 criminals and the injury of 1,708 criminals. During the same period, 401 cops were also injured, and one policeman was martyred.

Other Regions with High Encounter Numbers

Apart from Meerut, the Agra police conducted 1,844 encounters during the same period, resulting in the arrest of 4,654 criminals and the death of 14 dreaded criminals. 55 cops were also injured during the operations.

In Bareilly, 1,497 encounters were conducted, leading to the arrest of 3,410 criminals and the death of 7. During these encounters, 437 criminals were injured, and 296 police personnel were injured, with one policeman martyred.

Improving Law and Order in Uttar Pradesh

The statement further added that improving the law-and-order situation in the state had become the top priority of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The government had adopted a zero-tolerance policy against mafia and criminals and had intensified crackdowns to strengthen the state’s law and order.

As a result, the state that was once known for its poor law and order situation and atrocities of mafias on innocent people is now being recognized as a “crime and fear-free state” not just in the country, but also abroad.

Uttar Pradesh has witnessed a significant improvement in its law-and-order situation over the past six years under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The government’s zero-tolerance policy against crime and criminals has resulted in over 10,000 encounters with criminals, leading to the arrest of thousands of criminals and the death of 63.

These actions have strengthened the state’s law and order, making it a crime and fear-free state that is now recognized nationally and internationally.
