Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami Boosts Development with Key Project Approvals

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami is pushing forward the state’s growth by greenlighting funds for exciting development projects. From horticulture farms to temple tourism spots and better healthcare, these initiatives aim to uplift rural and urban areas alike. Here’s a quick look at the latest approvals that could transform local communities.

In Champawat district, Dhami has approved Rs 37.51 lakh to set up a new horticulture farm at Mudiyani, right near the district headquarters. This move will boost local farming and fresh produce. Plus, Rs 49.82 lakh goes towards creating a House of Himalayas marketing center at Amodi, helping artisans and farmers sell their goods more easily.

Shifting to Dehradun, the capital district gets Rs 60 lakh for a much-needed upgrade. Old and worn-out pipelines in various lanes under Ward 86, Sewla Kalan, in the Dharampur Assembly constituency, will be replaced. Residents here can soon expect smoother water supply without those frustrating leaks.

Over in Bageshwar district’s Kapkot Assembly constituency, Dhami sanctioned Rs 58.64 lakh to turn several temple sites into vibrant tourist hotspots. The list includes Shikhar Mool Narayan Campus, Alkhanath Temple Kilpara, Kanda Simkula, Ghatwariya, Shiv Temple Sundargufa Kanda, Bajyain Temple Dhai Ijar, and Nanda Devi Temple Dophad. On top of that, beautification work at Alkhanath Temple Kilpara will make these spots even more attractive for visitors, blending culture with tourism.

In Tehri district’s Dhanaulti Assembly constituency, Rs 60 lakh will fund the construction of a Yatri Vishram Grah—a comfy rest house for travelers—at Dwarikapuri. This will be a big relief for pilgrims and tourists exploring the hilly terrain.

Dhami didn’t stop at local projects. Drawing from the 15th Finance Commission recommendations, he okayed Rs 35.50 crore to upgrade rural Primary Health Centres (PHCs) and Sub-Centres (SCs) into modern Health and Wellness Centres for the 2025-26 financial year. This step promises better healthcare access in remote villages.

For urban areas, the CM released the first instalment of untied grants worth Rs 39.41 crore to all urban local bodies, also based on the 15th Finance Commission guidelines for 2024-25. Additionally, Rs 59.11 crore in tied grants flowed out as the initial payment, supporting city infrastructure and services.

These approvals highlight Dhami’s focus on balanced development across Uttarakhand, from tourism and agriculture to health and urban renewal. As the state gears up for more progress, locals are hopeful for improved living standards. Stay tuned for updates on how these projects unfold!
