Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami Spends 50th Birthday on Disaster Relief in Dehradun
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami kicked off his 50th birthday on September 16 by diving straight into disaster management work. Instead of celebrations, he focused on helping flood-hit areas across the state, as shared in a press release from the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO).
Early in the morning, CM Dhami visited disaster-affected spots in Dehradun. He inspected the damage firsthand and gave quick instructions to officials for fast relief and rescue operations. Reports of heavy rains and flooding had started coming in from various parts of Uttarakhand right from dawn, so he wasted no time. Before 9 a.m., he headed to Maldevta in Dehradun to check the situation personally. During the visit, he even hopped on a tractor to get a closer look at the devastation and urged teams to provide all possible aid to affected families.
The day before, CM Dhami had already announced no big birthday events. He asked supporters to keep things simple and said he’d spend the day in service and humility. True to his word, disaster response took center stage as soon as reports poured in. He called district magistrates for detailed damage updates and stayed committed to the people’s needs.
Later, from his residence, CM Dhami joined Tehsil Diwas programs virtually across Uttarakhand. These events let locals voice their concerns directly. He chatted with citizens, heard their grievances, and pushed officials to fix issues right away. "Tehsil Diwas is a great way to tackle public problems," he said, stressing the government’s promise to resolve every complaint on time.
His dedication didn’t go unnoticed. Prime Minister Narendra Modi sent birthday wishes, praising CM Dhami’s key role in Uttarakhand’s all-round growth. Union Home Minister Amit Shah highlighted how Dhami, under PM Modi’s guidance, keeps working for the poor and the progress of Devbhoomi Uttarakhand.
Other top leaders joined in too. Union Ministers like Nitin Gadkari, Dharmendra Pradhan, Manohar Lal Khattar, and Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya shared warm greetings. Uttarakhand Governor Lt. Gen. (Retd.) Gurmit Singh, Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath, Goa CM Pramod Sawant, Rajasthan CM Bhajanlal Sharma, Madhya Pradesh CM Dr. Mohan Yadav, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, and many more leaders wished him well.
CM Dhami’s hands-on approach shows his focus on Uttarakhand disaster relief and public service, especially during tough times like floods and heavy rains in the state.
