Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has greenlit several key development projects across the state, boosting infrastructure, water supply, and welfare. These approvals aim to improve roads, irrigation, government facilities, and preparations for the upcoming Kumbh Mela 2027. Here’s a quick look at the exciting updates from Dehradun.
In Nainital district’s Kaladhungi assembly constituency, CM Dhami approved Rs 3.81 crore under the State Plan. The funds will widen the road from Government Primary School in Bhagwanpur to Government Inter College in Lamachaur, linking it directly to the main Kaladhungi road. This upgrade promises smoother travel and better connectivity for locals.
Shifting to Bageshwar district, the Chief Minister sanctioned Rs 4.73 crore for the Bodi Dhuraphat Pumping Scheme in the Bageshwar division. The money covers finishing pending works and upgrading pumps and motors to energy-efficient centrifugal sets. It’s a big step toward reliable irrigation and water management in the region.
Over in Haridwar, Rs 7.07 crore got the nod for building the Prosecution Department Divisional Directorate office and a central malkhana at Roshnabad. As a kickstart, 40% of the funds—about Rs 2.83 crore—will release right away. This new setup will strengthen legal services and storage for evidence in the district.
Looking ahead to the massive Kumbh Mela 2027, CM Dhami approved various construction works totaling around Rs 113 crore. He also okayed a token release of Rs 10 crore this financial year to get preparations rolling. With millions expected to attend, these projects will enhance facilities and safety for pilgrims.
In a boost for drinking water and sanitation, the Drinking Water and Sanitation Department received Rs 17.58 crore for solar-powered grid projects. This includes three initiatives by Uttarakhand Jal Sansthan worth Rs 9.22 crore and 17 by Uttarakhand Peyjal Nigam at Rs 8.36 crore—all funded under NABARD. These efforts will bring clean water to more remote areas using eco-friendly tech.
Finally, on the welfare front, CM Dhami approved the Loktantra Senani Samman Pension for Smt. Devki Devi, wife of late freedom fighter Shyam Datt Tiwari from Kichha in Udham Singh Nagar district. She’ll get Rs 16,000 monthly from June 14, 2017, to October 13, 2022, and Rs 20,000 per month starting October 14, 2022, including arrears. It’s a heartfelt recognition of her husband’s sacrifices during India’s democracy movement.
These moves highlight Uttarakhand’s push for growth and support for its people. Stay tuned for more updates on state development projects.
