Vice President CP Radhakrishnan lauds NEP 2020 for flexibility

Vice President C. P. Radhakrishnan visited Mysuru on Sunday to praise India’s National Education Policy (NEP 2020). He highlighted the policy’s focus on interdisciplinary learning and flexibility, saying these tools let students shape their own paths to success.
Radhakrishnan spoke at the 16th convocation of JSS Academy of Higher Education and Research (JSS AHER). He urged the graduating class to set clear personal goals and to use their talents to benefit the nation. “Arise, Awake, and Stop Not Till the Goal is Reached,” he quoted Swami Vivekananda, urging perseverance and resilience.
The Vice‑President reminded graduates of Karnataka’s rich cultural heritage and celebrated Kannada’s status as a Classical Language. He also warned young people to use social media wisely, stay disciplined, and balance online activity with real‑world duties.
Respect for parents and learning from positive role models were also key points in his speech. He finished by saying, “Knowledge is the real wealth,” encouraging the new graduates to carry wisdom forward to inspire the next generation and help build a stronger India under the Viksit Bharat 2047 vision.
A total of 2,925 students received degrees, diplomas, and fellowships. Sixteen gold medallists from various fields were also honored by the Vice President. The ceremony attracted dignitaries including Karnataka Governor Thawar Chand Gehlot, JSS AHER Chancellor Jagadguru Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Mahaswamiji, and former Supreme Court Justice Shivaraj V.
