India’s Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan heads to Bihar for a packed day on Sunday. He’ll join major cultural and spiritual events that highlight the state’s vibrant traditions.
First up, Radhakrishnan will shine as the chief guest at the closing ceremony of the third Unmesha International Literature Festival in Patna. This popular event draws writers, poets, and thinkers from India and abroad, sparking lively discussions on books and ideas. The Vice President’s Secretariat shared in a release that he’ll grace the valedictory session, making it a highlight for literature fans.
After that, the Vice President will visit the sacred Shri Chamunda Devi Temple in Katra, Muzaffarpur district. He plans to offer prayers there, arriving around 1 p.m. by helicopter. To make his landing smooth, officials built a new helipad near Bhadayee Chowk, just three kilometers south of the temple along NH-527C.
Muzaffarpur’s district team has gone all out with preparations. They’ve cleaned the temple grounds and fixed nearby roads, then added festive banners and traditional decorations. Barricades line the approach paths to manage crowds and boost security.
On Saturday, top officials like District Magistrate and SSP Sushil Kumar checked everything personally. They even flew two helicopters for test runs and cleared away obstacles, such as roadside huts, to keep routes open.
Local residents in Bihar are buzzing with excitement, eager to welcome Vice President Radhakrishnan during his Bihar visit.
