Union Minister Giriraj Singh said on Friday that Bihar’s election is almost over and the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is nearly a sure winner. “Since day one of the vote, I have been saying that an NDA government will be formed,” he told . “The results are coming and I’m confident that Bihar’s victory is ours. Now it’s Bengal’s turn.”
He added that “the trends for the NDA will appear very strong” and that the “strike rate will also be very good.”
Other BJP leaders echoed his confidence. Rohan Gupta said the polling trends reflect the ground reality and that the win is based on performance. “Voters won’t cast their votes unless there is real work – hard work is essential,” he said. Rishav Tiwary highlighted that citizens of Bihar chose a government of development over one of destruction. Syed Zafar Islam stated the initial trend sends a clear signal that an NDA government will be formed again.
BJP MP Arun Singh stressed that a massive victory is imminent under Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. He praised the work done for the poor and farmers and the strong legal framework that has shown results.
The counting of 243 Assembly seats began at 8 a.m., starting with postal ballots and moving to Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) votes by 8:30 a.m. Statewide, the process is under tight security with Returning Officers and Counting Observers from the Election Commission overseeing every centre. More than 18,000 counting agents are monitoring the vote count.
Voters in Bihar are part of a larger national turn-out, with over 70 crore people casting ballots in two phases on November 6 and 11. The election pits the ruling NDA—currently holding 131 seats (80 BJP, 45 JD‑U, 4 HAM‑S, 2 independents)—against the opposition Mahagathbandhan, which has 111 seats (77 RJD, 19 Congress, 11 CPI‑ML, 2 each for CPI‑M and CPI).
With the NDA’s lead clear, the focus now shifts to West Bengal as the political landscape moves towards the next state’s election.
