Vijay Fires Back at Critics, Boosts TVK’s Chances in 2026 Tamil Nadu Elections
Actor-turned-politician Vijay, who leads the Tamiizhaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), isn’t letting criticism slow him down. He calls out the naysayers ridiculing his party as just the usual backlash against movements without deep ideologies. But Vijay remains upbeat, claiming TVK is on track for a big win in the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections.
In a fiery statement, Vijay hit back at those who once mocked him, saying he’d never connect with the public. "People who claimed Vijay would stay hidden and never meet folks are now whining differently," he quipped. He pointed to his recent campaign launch in Tiruchi, which pulled in huge crowds and sent shockwaves through Tamil Nadu politics.
Vijay didn’t hold back on the ruling DMK government either. He accused them of letting down the very people who voted them into power. Recent protests by sanitation workers, anganwadi staff, persons with disabilities, doctors, nurses, farmers, and fishermen highlight the issues, he said. Instead of fixing problems, the government arrests protesters, cracks down hard, and ignores their pleas.
"Were they really helping sanitation workers, or just jailing and beating them? Did they care for anganwadi workers or treat them like dirt? Farmers face charges under the Goondas Act—is this what social justice looks like?" Vijay questioned sharply.
Drawing inspiration from history, Vijay compared the mockery to what late Chief Minister M.G. Ramachandran (MGR) faced. Critics once labeled MGR "politically clueless," but he rose to become a game-changer with massive public support. "They mocked him back then, and they’re doing the same now to a people’s movement powered by youth and women," Vijay said. "No surprise there—they’re throwing shade and hate our way."
Staying true to his roots, Vijay promised TVK would stick to core values like social justice, secularism, and respect for every life. "We’ll move ahead inspired by giants like Periyar, Kamaraj, Ambedkar, Velunachiyar, and Anjalai Ammal," he declared. He added that public backing is already sparking a grassroots revival for TVK across Tamil Nadu.
Confident as ever, Vijay predicted a landslide victory. "Like in 1967 and 1977, Tamil Nadu’s people will deliver a thumping win for us in 2026," he said. With his star power and bold vision, Vijay’s TVK is stirring up Tamil Nadu politics big time—watch this space!
