Mumbai, Sep 8: Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has a big plan for the state’s future. He calls the Maharashtra Vision Document 2047 a guiding light, just like sacred books such as the Gita, Bible, or Quran, and even the Constitution. During a key meeting he chaired on Monday, Fadnavis stressed that all future policies in Maharashtra should follow this vision to build a developed state by 2047.
Fadnavis explained that the team is working on a solid roadmap for the next 20 to 25 years. “Vision sets the direction, so our goals need to be clear and focused,” he said. “We must work hard to turn this into real achievements, not just words on paper. If we stick to this plan over the next five years, we’ll make Viksit Maharashtra a reality by 2047. We’re already on the right path!”
He highlighted the importance of the cooperative sector in Maharashtra’s growth and urged more focus on it. Fadnavis also pushed for better use of information technology to improve administration. “We need to speed up the Bharat Net Ring project for better connectivity,” he added. “Let’s partner with international companies on cybersecurity. This Maharashtra Vision 2047 will become the country’s top blueprint for development.”
The CM also called for upgrades in educational institutions and universities to boost quality. Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde joined in, saying this vision paints a clear picture of what Maharashtra will look like in 22 years. “It’s a blueprint that guides us toward future needs,” Shinde noted. “Big dreams drive progress, and both government and administration must share the responsibility. This plan can meet people’s expectations and reach even the last person in society.”
According to the government, meeting participants agreed that Viksit Maharashtra Vision 2047 isn’t just a document—it’s set to drive real action. It aims to speed up economic, social, and industrial progress over the next two decades. Discussions covered key areas like water resources, energy, higher and technical education, school education, skill development, social justice, industry, services, information technology, finance, health, and tourism. With this focus, Maharashtra is gearing up for a brighter tomorrow.
