In Lucknow, senior Uttar Pradesh Congress leader Avinash Pande has hailed the recent Voter Adhikar Yatra in Bihar as a huge success. He believes its effects will shake up the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections, signaling a big shift in public sentiment against the ruling government.

Speaking to on Sunday at a lively Voter Adhikar Rally in Sitapur—modeled after the Bihar event—Pande pointed to the massive turnout of Congress workers from across the state. “The crowd’s energy today shows exactly what people are thinking,” he said. “Folks have decided they want a government that actually cares about them. Come 2027, during the UP Assembly elections, they’ll hit back hard at the NDA. And it all starts with Bihar this year.”

Uttar Pradesh Congress President Ajay Rai joined the rally too, promising that this movement will now roll out to villages and districts everywhere. The goal? Make sure no one loses out on their voting rights.

Pande didn’t hold back on social media either. In a post on X (formerly Twitter) from the Biswan rally in Sitapur, he wrote: “The huge turnout proves people won’t stand for BJP’s election tricks anymore. The Constitution guarantees equal voting rights to every citizen, but the BJP, teaming up with the Election Commission, is quietly taking them away. They’re adding fake voters by the thousands and deleting real opposition supporters on purpose. This isn’t just cheating—it’s an assault on democracy. Congress will fight tooth and nail with the people to protect it.”

He also threw his weight behind RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav’s sharp words on BJP’s broken promises. “Tejashwi nailed it,” Pande said. “It’s not just Bihar—the youth across India feel cheated by the pledge of 2 crore jobs every year. Where are those 22 crore jobs from the past 11 years? Businesses are closing left and right, unemployment is soaring even for educated folks, and prices are through the roof. Young people feel stuck and scared. I bet the public will make them pay for this letdown soon.”

This rally highlights growing concerns over voter rights, electoral fraud, and unkept promises like job creation in India. As Bihar Assembly elections heat up, Congress leaders like Pande and Rai are ramping up efforts to mobilize supporters and challenge the NDA’s grip.
