In Patna, Bihar, election fever is heating up. RJD chief Tejashwi Yadav is promising that if his party wins the upcoming Assembly polls, every family in the state will have at least one member in a government job within 20 months. He says the plan will kick off within 20 days of forming the new Mahagathbandhan government.
The promise came just a day after Union Minister Giriraj Singh called it “laughable.” He accused Yadav of turning a land‑for‑jobs case—where Lalu Prasad Yadav’s family is alleged to have traded land titles for state jobs—into a campaign slogan. The CBI has finished its arguments, and a court has ordered the case’s charges to be framed.
Congress senior leader Ashok Gehlot urged voters to wait for the Mahagathbandhan manifesto before making judgments. “Everything will be clear once we release the manifesto,” he said. “We want to show what we will actually do after we take office.”
With the assembly elections set for November 6 and 11, Bihar’s political landscape is full of bold promises and intense scrutiny. The result will be announced on November 14, and the focus will be on how each party plans to deliver jobs and meet voters’ expectations.
