New Delhi, Oct 22 – Delhi Police nabbed a wanted suspect, Rishabh (also known as Ritik and “Dancer”), after a shoot‑out in Dwarka’s Sector‑3. The operation took place on Wednesday following a tip that the man was heading to the area.
Police say Rishabh had been on the run after a murder case opened at Bindapur Police Station. A joint team from the Anti‑Narcotics Cell (ANC) and the Anti‑Auto Theft Squad (AATS) of Dwarka was sent to catch him.
When officers tried to arrest Rishabh, he fired first. Police returned fire, wounding him and an officer, Inspector Subhash Chand. Rishabh was taken to Indira Gandhi Medical College for treatment. Inspector Chand is also recovering from a gunshot wound at Venkateshwar Hospital.
The gunman is the main accused in the August 17‑18 killing of Kuldeep, a resident of Raja Puri in Uttam Nagar. Two other suspects, Pawan (“Punjabi”) and an associate, were already jailed. After the murder, Rishabh allegedly linked up with local gangs and planned to silence witnesses, officials said.
A pistol, two live rounds and two spent casings were recovered at the scene. Police opened a new case at Dwarka North Police Station to investigate the shooting. The investigation into Rishabh’s past crimes and gang ties is ongoing.
