In Patna, during the second day of his Bihar Adhikar Yatra, opposition leader Tejashwi Yadav didn’t hold back as he slammed Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. Calling him a “Cheat Minister” instead of Chief Minister, Yadav rallied a huge crowd in Bakhtiyarpur, promising a brighter future for Bihar’s people.
Tejashwi Yadav, the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief, accused Nitish Kumar of straight-up copying his welfare ideas to win votes. “Every scheme I announce for the people, he just steals it,” Yadav said, firing up the supporters. He pointed to his own ‘Mai Bahen Maan Yojana’, which would give every woman Rs 2,500 a month once the Grand Alliance takes power. In response, Nitish announced a one-time Rs 10,000 loan for women—something Yadav called a cheap trick to grab women’s votes ahead of the Bihar Assembly elections.
Yadav didn’t stop there. He hit out at Nitish for lacking real vision and just mimicking RJD promises. On social security pensions, Yadav highlighted how his party pledged Rs 1,500 monthly for widows, the elderly, and disabled folks. But Nitish only bumped it up from Rs 400 to Rs 1,100 after 20 years in power. “Why the delay?” Yadav asked the cheering crowd.
Electricity promises got a mention too—Yadav vowed 200 free units per household, while Nitish offers just 125. And for Bihar government exam fees, Yadav wants them at zero, but Nitish set it to Rs 100. “The NDA government has no ideas of their own,” Yadav said, claiming Nitish fears defeat in the upcoming polls and is scrambling to copy Grand Alliance plans.
To counter this, Yadav urged the public to back him and the Grand Alliance. He painted a picture of a transformed Bihar: one that ends youth migration by creating local jobs. “We’ll restart shut sugar mills, set up food processing units, and build industries for employment,” he promised. Plus, his government would deliver a crime-free, corruption-free state.
“Support us to form the Grand Alliance government,” Yadav told the excited rally. “We’ll give you a Bihar full of jobs, respect, and security.”
The Bihar Adhikar Yatra kicked off on September 16 from Jehanabad and will span five days, hitting multiple districts with rallies and roadshows to boost Tejashwi Yadav’s push against the NDA in the Bihar elections.
