Congress Leader Sachin Pilot Slams BJP Over Vote Theft Claims in Ujjain
In Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, Congress leader Sachin Pilot took a strong stand against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday. He accused the ruling party of dodging questions from Rahul Gandhi about alleged vote theft and election irregularities. Speaking to reporters after prayers at the famous Shree Mahakaleshwar Temple, Pilot made it clear: the BJP hasn’t responded to any evidence Rahul Gandhi presented on vote malpractices.
"We won’t let this slide," Pilot said. "Congress will launch a nationwide initiative to make people more aware and vigilant about their voting rights. It’s time everyone stays alert against vote chori and voter list issues."
This comes hot on the heels of a major Congress-led campaign in Bihar. Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, spearheaded a 16-day Voter Adhikar Yatra to spotlight what the opposition calls systematic vote theft by the BJP and flaws in the Election Commission of India (ECI) voter lists.
The yatra kicked off with Rahul Gandhi teaming up with Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav in Sasaram. It then wound through 25 districts, covering spots like Aurangabad, Gayaji, Siwan, and more—stretching over 1,300 kilometers and hitting around 110 assembly constituencies in the election-ready state.
Big names from the INDIA bloc jumped in to boost the momentum. On the final day in Patna, Trinamool Congress (TMC) figures Yusuf Pathan and Lalitesh Pati Tripathi, along with Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut, joined the rally. Other heavyweights like Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, CPI(ML) General Secretary Dipankar Bhattacharya, Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, and Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin showed up at key stops.
State leaders added firepower too—Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah, Himachal Pradesh CM Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, and Telangana CM A Revanth Reddy all participated, turning the yatra into a united front against alleged electoral fraud.
The event wrapped up with a strong message: protect your vote. As Pilot emphasized in Ujjain, this fight for fair elections is just getting started across India.
