Women BJP leaders slam Oppn over abuse of PM Modi’s late mother during Bihar yatra

A political controversy has erupted in India after some opposition leaders made hurtful remarks about Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s late mother during a rally in Bihar. Several BJP women leaders strongly condemned these comments and criticized the opposition’s behavior.

The comments were made from the stage in Darbhanga last week, sparking widespread anger across the country. In response, one person involved in the incident was arrested. Prime Minister Modi addressed the issue for the first time in a virtual speech, stressing that his mother was not involved in politics. He questioned why she was targeted and insulted.

“My mother had nothing to do with politics, so why was she humiliated? I can forgive them, but the people of Bihar will not,” PM Modi said. “The voters of Bihar will decide their fate in the upcoming elections and hold these leaders accountable.”

BJP leaders hit out at opposition figures like Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Yadav for lowering political standards. Delhi BJP chief Rekha Gupta accused them of shaming politics with their behavior, especially during the Bihar campaign.

BJP spokesperson Radhika Khera criticized the Congress party’s silence, saying it showed a decline in Indian values. She emphasized that the Congress leaders’ anger towards PM Modi has gone to such extremes that they are dragging his mother into political attacks.

BJP MP Aparajita Sarangi noted that Bihar voters would give a strong response to such negativity in the elections. She called out the Congress for stooping to such low levels of debate.

Meanwhile, West Bengal BJP leader Locket Chatterjee expressed disappointment that no opposition leader, including Mamata Banerjee, condemned the abusive remarks. She called it “disgraceful” that the opposition shifted their focus from attacking PM Modi to insulting his mother.

This controversy is likely to intensify political debates ahead of the Bihar elections. BJP leaders are planning to take this issue directly to the people, insisting that such personal attacks are unacceptable and unbecoming of politics.
