In the bustling city of Mumbai, Shiv Sena UBT leader Aaditya Thackeray took to social media on Wednesday to slam the Leader of the Opposition, Rahul Gandhi, over new claims of fraud in the Haryana Assembly elections.
Thackeray said Gandhi had told the world that the Government of India’s Election Commission was letting fake voters enter the rolls, helping the BJP win state polls. “The world is watching how our elections aren’t free and fair anymore… with proof,” Thackeray tweeted, urging every citizen, regardless of party preference, to watch the evidence he shared on “vote theft.”
The UBT chief called the presentation a must‑see for everyone, noting that a single political party is reportedly allowed to add fraudulent names to the voter list. “This steals the value of your vote,” he added. He accused the Election Commission of turning India’s biggest democracy into a playground for the BJP’s vote‑stealing tactics.
“Whoever wins or loses, every Indian deserves an equal vote,” Thackeray said. He pointed to recent allegations of voter fraud in the Worli ward and other places in Maharashtra and reminded followers that Shiv Sena (UBT) has staged large protests calling for a fair electoral process.
“You’ve just proven that Haryana’s election was stolen – fake voters, no honest voice for real people,” Thackeray added. He framed the issue as a fight for democracy and the Constitution, shouting, “Vote theft is a crime.”
Thackeray also recalled how last week he released data that exposed “vote theft.” He said the cut‑throat comment from Maharashtra’s Chief Minister, Devendra Fadnavis, was unworthy, and criticized a faction of the BJP for citing “double voters” while providing no proof of their own wrongdoing.
In a press conference at the Congress headquarters, Rahul Gandhi launched fresh accusations. He claimed a Brazilian model voted 22 times in Haryana from 10 separate booths under different names—Seema, Sweety, Rashmi, Saraswati—arguing this was part of a “centralised” operation to sway outcomes in favour of the BJP. Gandhi warned that 2.5 million of the 20 million registered voters in Haryana could be fake.
The debate has drawn attention to India’s election system and the ongoing tension between opposition parties and the ruling BJP, as both sides continue to claim the other is undermining democracy.
