Massive Temple Project in Ahmedabad: World’s Tallest Temple Takes Shape with Adani Cement’s Support
In the heart of Ahmedabad, Gujarat, an incredible construction project is underway at Vishv Umiyadham. Workers are pouring the world’s largest temple raft foundation, and Adani Cement is supplying the key materials to make it happen. This ambitious temple will stand at an astonishing 504 feet tall—twice the height of Delhi’s iconic Qutub Minar—making it the tallest temple in the world once completed.
Adani Cement’s CEO, Vinod Bahety, shared his excitement about the project. "Vishv Umiyadham is set to become the world’s tallest temple, reaching around 504 feet," he said. "We’re proud to supply the cement for this massive raft foundation. Our team of 600-700 workers is buzzing with energy to help set a world record. There are tough challenges in this raft casting, but everyone’s motivated."
The foundation work kicked off on Engineers’ Day and aims to wrap up by September 17, which happens to be Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday. Bahety revealed that the raft will use about 24,000 cubic meters of concrete. "We’re providing high-strength, temperature-controlled specialized concrete, along with cement and chemicals, to ensure the structure stays strong and lasts for generations," he added.
RP Patel, president of the Vishv Umiya Foundation, gave more details on the grand vision. The entire Umiyadham complex spans 60 acres and costs a whopping Rs 2,000 crore. "This temple features 1,551 pillars as its base, and we’re building this record-breaking concrete raft over three days," Patel explained. "The full temple construction should finish in about two years, and we hope Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate it. We’re getting amazing support from both the Government of India and the Gujarat state government."
But Vishv Umiyadham isn’t just about the temple—it’s a hub for community growth. The site will include a skill university for youth and women, a hospital, a hostel, and a sports complex. "This project will empower people through social activities and become a major center of faith for Sanatanis," Patel said. He also thanked Adani Cement for their vital role in supplying cement for the temple construction.
It’s worth noting that Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone for the Vishva Umiyadham Complex back in March 2019 at Jaspur, Ahmedabad. As this world-class temple project in Ahmedabad moves forward, it’s already drawing attention for its scale and significance in Gujarat’s cultural landscape.
