New Delhi, Oct 26 — Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath visited the capital today for a series of routine courtesy calls and a review of the state’s big religious festival.

In the morning, Yogi met Union Home Minister Amit Shah at Shah’s Delhi residence. The two leaders exchanged views on pressing governance issues and how the centre and the state can work together more smoothly. The CM thanked the minister in his tweet: “A courtesy meeting with Hon’ble Union Home and Cooperation Minister Shri Amit Shah Ji. Heartfelt thanks for your valuable time!” The visit was short and friendly, a regular part of the two senior BJP leaders’ coordination.

Later in the day, Yogi paid a courtesy visit to BJP National President and Union Minister for Chemicals, Fertilisers and Health J. P. Nadda. The meeting took place at Nadda’s Delhi office, where both leaders greeted each other and discussed key matters. Yogi posted on X: “Today, a courtesy meeting in New Delhi with Honourable National President and Union Minister Shri Jagat Prakash Nadda Ji. Heartfelt thanks for your valuable time!”

These back‑to‑back meetings occurred as the BJP ramps up preparations for the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections.

After the visits, Yogi turned his attention to the annual Kartik Purnima fair, which draws about 40‑45 lakh devotees to the Ganga banks in Garhmukteshwar (Hapur district) and the Tigri fair in Amroha. He conducted an aerial survey of the fair sites, then called a meeting with officials and issued directives.

The chief minister emphasized the need for clear, timely arrangements to ensure a smooth experience for pilgrims. He ordered top priority for traffic control, security, sanitation, health facilities, drinking water and lighting. NDRF and SDRF teams will be deployed, CCTV cameras and drone surveillance will run the ghats, and rescue boats and helplines will be set up.

The Kartik Purnima fair, scheduled from Oct 30 to Nov 5, will run as a “Mini Kumbh” this year, with Yogi stressing that devotees’s safety remains the highest priority.
