Israeli Defence Minister Issues Final Warning to Hamas Amid Gaza Offensive Plans
In a bold statement from Jerusalem, Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz has warned Hamas of an impending "powerful hurricane" striking Gaza City’s skies today. He called it a final ultimatum: release the hostages and surrender weapons, or face total destruction.
Katz shared this message on X (formerly Twitter), saying the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) are gearing up to ramp up their operations against Hamas terrorists in Gaza. "Today a huge hurricane will hit the skies of Gaza City and the roofs of the terror towers will shake. This is a final warning to the Hamas murderers and rapists in Gaza and in luxury hotels abroad: Release the hostages and lay down your weapons – or Gaza will be destroyed and you will be destroyed. The IDF is continuing as planned – and is preparing to expand the maneuver to overwhelm Gaza," he posted.
This comes as Israel readies a major offensive to capture Gaza City in the northern part of the Gaza Strip. The city, once home to over a million residents seeking shelter, has seen widespread evacuations. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu revealed on Sunday that more than 100,000 people have already fled the area.
In recent days, the IDF has targeted one high-rise building in Gaza City each day after issuing evacuation warnings. Officials claim Hamas has been using these structures for terror activities. The strikes aim to push civilians out before the full takeover begins. For the third time in a row, the IDF hit a residential high-rise on Sunday, again after multiple alerts to evacuate. Israel also reported its first rocket attack from Gaza in three weeks, but no injuries or damage were noted.
Tensions remain high in the Israel-Hamas conflict, with both sides digging in as the IDF pushes forward with its Gaza military operations. Stay tuned for updates on this developing story.
