Man connected with firing at Kapil Sharma’s Canada cafe arrested in Delhi

In Delhi, authorities have taken a man into custody for his supposed involvement in the string of shootings that hit comedian Kapil Sharma’s Kaps café in Canada. The detainee, Mansingh Sekhon—who is also recognized as Bandhu Maan Singh Shekhon and a key figure in the Goldy Dhillon gang—allegedly supplied the attackers with weapons and a vehicle. Sekhon had fled Canada in August, only to return to India, where the Delhi Crime Branch, headed by DCP Sanjeev Yadav, apprehended him. During the raid, a Chinese PX‑3 pistol was seized and authorities noted that Sekhon carries a lengthy criminal history along with several pending cases in India.

The Vancouver location of the café has faced three separate shooting incidents since July, the latest of which occurred in October, merely weeks after the venue reopened. Kapil Sharma addressed these events in a press briefing on November 26, saying, “This incident happened in Canada… in Vancouver… and I think there were three firing incidents there. I feel that, according to the rules there, maybe the police don’t have enough power to control such things. But when our case happened, it was taken up at the federal level. Just like we have our Central Government here, the matter was discussed in the Canadian Parliament.” He added, “I believe that whatever God does, we can’t always understand the reason behind it. Many people called me and told me that several such incidents had happened there earlier as well. But when the firing happened at our cafe, it became big news. Now the police there and the law‑and‑order system are taking steps to make improvements.”

Investigators confirm the probe is still active, with Delhi Police working closely with Canadian officials to bring all perpetrators to justice. The arrest of Sekhon is viewed as a pivotal move in resolving the case and bolstering the safety of Indian nationals and entrepreneurs overseas. The repeated attacks on Kaps café have highlighted serious security concerns and the reach of organized crime, driving both Canadian and Indian authorities to act decisively.
