YouTube Launches First Academy in Middle East with UAE’s Creators HQ

Dubai, UAE – Exciting news for content creators! Creators HQ, the UAE’s pioneering hub for creators and part of Visioneers, has teamed up with YouTube to launch the first-ever YouTube Academy in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. This big step aims to supercharge the skills of local creators and boost the region’s booming content economy.

The partnership fits perfectly with the UAE’s push to become a global leader in digital creativity. YouTube, always on the lookout to support its creators, wants to help build a strong ecosystem here. That means better training in data analysis, content production, and turning passions into full-time careers on the platform.

So, what does the YouTube Academy offer? It’s all about practical tools and resources to level up your game. Creators will learn how to craft amazing content for YouTube’s wide range of formats – think shorts, long videos, and more – and reach viewers on phones, laptops, or TVs. Forget basic tips; this program dives deep with hands-on workshops, expert advice, and real connections to help new talents grow their audience and make their mark.

YouTube’s popularity in the region is no secret. In May 2024, it connected with over 20 million people in Saudi Arabia and 7.5 million in the UAE (aged 18+). This academy is part of YouTube’s bigger plan to uplift MENA creators, improving content quality and diversity across the board.

Javid Aslanov, Head of YouTube for MENA, couldn’t be more enthusiastic. "Creators in MENA are the future of entertainment and the heartbeat of the creator economy," he said. "Partnering with Creators HQ lets us reach more people, giving them the tools to turn their ideas into lasting careers on YouTube. We’re not just building a platform – we’re empowering storytellers who shape our culture."

Echoing that, Alia AlHammadi, Vice Chairperson of the UAE Government Media Office and CEO of the 1Billion Followers Summit, added: "This collaboration with YouTube will equip creators with essential skills to build a vibrant community. It strengthens the UAE’s content economy and cements our spot as a creativity hotspot." She highlighted how the academy teaches analytics, monetization, and community strategies for a sustainable future in digital content.

The programs kick off with advanced workshops and training led by YouTube pros. It’s designed to help creators earn a living from what they love. Growth is already happening – YouTube channels in the UAE earning seven figures in local currency jumped 15% year-over-year. In Saudi Arabia and Egypt, those numbers soared by 40% and 60%, respectively.

This tie-up between Creators HQ and YouTube is all about sparking creativity, teamwork, and expansion in the MENA creator economy. It keeps up with the fast digital world and promises more joint projects ahead, like AI training for content and workshops to boost Arabic videos globally. If you’re a creator in the region, this could be your big break!
