Union Minister Piyush Goyal kicked off a productive visit to Abu Dhabi by meeting Sheikh Tahnoon Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Deputy Ruler of Abu Dhabi, on Friday. The two leaders focused on boosting India-UAE ties in exciting areas like emerging technologies, infrastructure investment, and energy security.
Sheikh Tahnoon shared details of their chat on X, highlighting how the discussion showed the deepening strategic partnership between India and the UAE. “We talked about the latest economic and tech trends, plus how AI can boost productivity and growth. We also explored opportunities in infrastructure investment and energy security,” he posted. Both sides pledged to ramp up collaboration through innovation and stronger investment links in key sectors.
Piyush Goyal echoed the positive vibe in his own X post after the meeting. He called it an honor to connect with the Sheikh and pointed out the huge potential for India-UAE cooperation. “There are immense avenues for our nations to collaborate across strategic sectors, including AI, energy security, and infrastructure. Looking forward to building on these opportunities and deepening our partnership,” Goyal wrote.
The talks come as India and the UAE aim to strengthen their economic bonds, with AI and energy security emerging as hot topics for future growth.
Before the high-level meeting, Goyal took time on Thursday to visit the stunning BAPS Hindu Mandir in Abu Dhabi. He praised the temple as a symbol of spiritual grace and top-notch architecture. “This magnificent landmark stands as a proud testament to the India-UAE cultural partnership, celebrating our shared values of peace and heritage,” Goyal shared on X.
During the visit, Goyal also met Swami Brahmaviharidas, the head of the BAPS Hindu Mandir, adding a touch of cultural warmth to his trip.
