Israeli forces took out a terrorist cell in the Menashe area of southern Samaria on Thursday night, stopping what the IDF called an imminent attack. The group was tied to Islamic Jihad, a Palestinian militant organization known for targeting Israelis.
The cell included two key operatives: Alaa Gawadet Bani Odeh and Muhammad Qassem Suleiman, both from the town of Tamun. IDF officials say these men had been pushing shooting attacks against Israeli troops and planting improvised explosive devices, or IEDs, to cause harm.
During the raid, soldiers surrounded the building where the suspects were hiding. They opened fire with machine guns and grenades, neutralizing the threat on the spot. This operation highlights ongoing Israeli efforts to counter terrorism in the West Bank region.
