The UAE’s top court joined a big international event in Astana, Kazakhstan, to celebrate 30 years of the country’s constitution. The forum, called “Peace and the Future Through Law,” brought together experts on constitutional justice from around the world.
Leading the UAE team was Mohammed Albadi Al-Dhaheri, President of the Federal Supreme Court. He was joined by Judge Shihab Abdulrahman Al Hammadi from the same court and Mohammed Saeed Nasser Al Shibli, the Director of Support Services.
At the end of the forum, Kazakhstan’s President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met with the heads of all the delegations. It was a great chance for leaders to connect.
In his speech, Al-Dhaheri talked about why events like this matter. “This forum is a key platform for sharing knowledge and ideas on using law to create a peaceful, fair, and united world,” he said. He stressed how constitutional courts keep things in check by reviewing laws to make sure they follow the constitution.
He pointed out the UAE Federal Supreme Court’s big wins through its special constitutional chamber. It’s helped build strong constitutional justice over the years. Plus, the UAE’s smart move to an electronic litigation system has made justice easier to access and sped up court processes for everyone.
On the side, Al-Dhaheri chatted with top Kazakh judges about boosting teamwork between the two countries. They swapped thoughts on the latest in judicial reforms and legal changes, aiming to strengthen ties in constitutional law and international cooperation.
