Egypt’s engineering exports are booming in 2025, with the United Arab Emirates stepping up as the top destination for these goods. This surge highlights the country’s growing strength in the global trade scene.
From January to August this year, Egypt’s engineering export sector jumped 12%, hitting $4.187 billion. That’s a solid increase from the $3.746 billion recorded in the same period last year, according to the Engineering Export Council of Egypt under the Ministry of Trade and Industry.
May Helmy, the council’s executive director, shared the exciting news today. She pointed out big gains in key markets like Europe, Asia, Africa, the Americas, and Arab countries—especially the UAE. “Our targeted markets are expanding significantly,” Helmy said.
Sherif El Sayad, the council’s chairman, credits this growth to the sector’s sharp competitive edge, even amid global hurdles. He noted that these eight-month figures mark the highest ever for Egyptian engineering exports. Looking ahead, El Sayad expects the total to reach $6 billion by the end of 2025.
This momentum could boost Egypt’s economy further as it taps into rising demand for engineering products worldwide. (/WAM)
