Dubai is set to host the 11th World Green Economy Summit (WGES) on October 1-2, 2025, at the Dubai World Trade Centre. This major event, backed by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, draws support from 16 key local, regional, and global organizations.
The summit’s theme, “Innovating for Impact: Accelerating the Future of the Green Economy,” highlights Dubai’s push as a top global hub for climate action. Organizers aim to speed up the shift to a tougher, more inclusive low-carbon economy that benefits everyone.
The Dubai Supreme Council of Energy, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), and the World Green Economy Organization (WGEO) put together the event. It keeps building on its role as a key platform for worldwide sustainability efforts.
Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Vice Chairman of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy, MD & CEO of DEWA, and Chairman of WGEO, shared his thoughts: “The growing interest from international organizations in sponsoring the summit shows the world’s trust in its goals. It plays a leading role in speeding up clean energy shifts, growing green finance, pushing climate equity, and empowering young people. We rally support for communities hit hardest by climate change, build public-private partnerships, and tap innovation for real global change.”
World leaders, policymakers, experts, and specialists from across the globe will gather to share ideas and knowledge. The talks will focus on seven core areas: technology and innovation, clean and renewable energy sources, policies and regulations, finance, climate equity, climate adaptation and resilience, and youth involvement in climate action.
