Quetta, Oct. 23 – Human rights groups say at least three students vanished in Balochistan after a raid by Pakistani security forces. The incident adds to a growing list of enforced disappearances, extrajudicial killings, and torture reports that are shaking the province.

The Baloch Voice for Justice (BVJ) said that in the early hours on Thursday, soldiers entered the home of Abdul Wahid in Baloch Abad and took three students—Haroon Baloch, his brother Hamood, and Fahad Baloch—into custody. “These arrests are a form of collective punishment against innocent students,” the BVJ said. “The continuous abduction of Baloch youth shows how deep the human‑rights crisis is getting in Balochistan.”

BVJ is urging the United Nations, Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch, and other global bodies to step in and demand the safe return of all people who have been forcibly disappeared.

Since the week, there have been more cases. On Oct. 19, five Baloch students—Hameed Ullah, Bawal Khan, Jahangir, Ahmed Shah, and Nimat Ullah—were taken from the Kharan district by security forces. The Baloch National Movement’s Paank office confirmed that on Oct. 16 Ayaz and Imdad from Awaran district were seized by the Army, and on Oct. 20 16‑year‑old Balach Baloch was taken from Turbat in Kech district.

A recent report by the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) titled “Human Rights Situation in Balochistan” charted 182 disappearances from July to August. Eighty were recorded in July, and 102 in August. Only 38 people have been released. One victim died in custody and 142 are still missing with no clue where they are or if they are alive. The missing group includes 40 students, 15 minors and a woman. The report highlighted that the Frontier Corps is the main culprit in towns like Quetta, Kech, and Awaran.

People in Balochistan fear that each new disappearance increases the sense of danger. The last wave of arrests shows no sign of stopping, and the region faces a mounting human‑rights crisis that draws international concern.
