BJP MLA Pannalal Shakya Warns of Civil War Risk in India, Pushes for Mandatory Military Training for Youth
In a bold speech at a sports event in Madhya Pradesh’s Guna district, BJP MLA Pannalal Shakya raised alarms about India’s future. He warned that the country could face civil unrest like some of its neighbors if it doesn’t act fast. Shakya called for compulsory military training for all youth aged 18 to 30 to build a stronger, more prepared nation.
The remarks came during the closing ceremony of the 69th State-Level Judo Boxing Championship on Thursday. Shakya also handed out scooters to top Class 12 students from government schools as rewards for their hard work. Speaking at the Government Excellence School’s Nodal Sports Centre, he tied the event to bigger issues like national security.
"Nepal, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, and Afghanistan have all crumbled under civil unrest," Shakya said. "If we don’t prepare our youth right now, India might head down the same path toward civil war." He pointed to recent chaos in the region, like the "fire in Lanka," a coup in Bangladesh, Afghanistan’s ruins, terrorism in Pakistan, and Nepal’s fresh collapse. "Now, everyone’s watching India," he added.
Shakya urged the district administration to send his written proposal straight to the Union Home Ministry and Defence Ministry. He wants immediate steps to roll out military training programs for young Indians. "We can’t wait. If trouble hits tomorrow, who will stand up? It’s coming—I can see it," he stressed with conviction.
While praising sports, student achievements, and India’s dream to become a ‘Vishwa Guru’ or world leader, Shakya made it clear: protecting the nation’s future comes first. He even turned to the students getting scooters, warning the District Magistrate directly. "If we’re not alert, someone could just slap them and grab their scooters," he said, highlighting how unprepared youth could be vulnerable.
Shakya’s comments on civil war threats in India and the need for youth military training have sparked lively debates online and among locals. So far, neither the Madhya Pradesh state government nor the central government has responded officially.
The Nepal unrest Shakya mentioned is still fresh in many minds. Massive student-led protests, driven by Gen Z activists, have rocked the country against Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli’s government. They accuse it of corruption and ignoring people’s hardships. The violent clashes—the worst in decades—have led to at least 19 deaths and over 300 injuries from police action. Protesters are now pushing for former Chief Justice Sushila Karki to step in as interim Prime Minister to restore calm.
