In Srinagar, CRPF Director General G.P. Singh kicked off an exciting all-women bike expedition today, sending 33 brave female riders on a challenging 1,400-kilometer journey from the bustling Lal Chowk city center to the stunning Pangong Tso lake in Ladakh and back.
This Women’s High-Altitude Bike Expedition highlights the spirit of CRPF’s women warriors, blending adventure with messages of patriotism, national integration, and women empowerment. As the CRPF shared on its official X account, “High Altitude: High Spirits.” The post praised the riders for their resilience, grit, and teamwork as they tackle tough terrains in Jammu and Kashmir.
The flag-off event buzzed with energy, featuring a thrilling Taekwondo demonstration and lively Kashmiri folk dances that drew cheers from the crowd.
Beyond the ride, the CRPF plays a key role in maintaining law and order alongside local police in the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir, focusing on anti-terrorist operations. Since the Indian government suspended Operation Sindoor, security forces like the CRPF have shifted to a bolder strategy. They aim to dismantle the entire terror network, not just take down armed militants.
This includes targeting terrorists, their overground workers (OGWs), and sympathizers who support these activities. Security teams are also cracking down on drug smugglers and peddlers, as experts link these rackets to terrorism funding through hawala money networks. Many of these illegal operations trace back to Pakistan, fueling unrest in the region.
