Quetta, Nov 22 (LatestNewsX) – Human rights groups denounced the forced disappearance of a teenage Baloch girl during a Pakistani raid in Balochistan on Saturday.
The organization Baloch Voice for Justice (BVJ) said that 15‑year‑old Nasreena Baloch was taken by security forces early Saturday morning in the Daroo area of Hub Chowki city. “The targetted raid and subsequent disappearance of a minor highlight the intensifying pattern of repression faced by Baloch women and girls,” the BVJ added.
BVJ urged the United Nations, civil‑society groups and other international bodies to step in urgently so that Baloch women can be protected from the intimidation, harassment and abductions that have become routine. The group also demanded that Pakistani authorities end enforced disappearances and hold those responsible accountable, while insisting on the immediate safe return of Nasreena.
Baloch Women Forum (BWF) condemned the case and called for Nasreena’s release, noting that her detention has upended societal norms. According to the BWF, she has been moved to an undisclosed location and has not been brought to the city police station, nor informed her family.
“For the last few years, women victimisation has increased through various means. Other than the societal dilemmas, they are facing direct state brutes, along with Baloch men, including enforced disappearances in particular,” the BWF stated. The forum listed past incidents such as the detentions of Sayad Bibi, Sakeena, Mahal Baloch, Noor Khatoon, Asma of Khuzdar, Mahjabeen of Quetta, and many other women who fell victim to the state’s illegal practice of enforced disappearances.
Tara Chand, president of Baloch American Congress, expressed alarm over this enforced disappearance. He accused Pakistani soldiers of patrolling Balochistan day and night, targeting innocent civilians. He also highlighted that Baloch women and girls are being abducted and subjected to torture and severe cruelty.
“I appeal to the world to raise its voice against the ongoing military operations carried out by the Pakistani army in Balochistan and the systematic oppression of the Baloch people. The international community must speak out and stand with the Baloch people,” the Baloch leader wrote on X.
