Melbourne, Australia – Qantas has announced it will restart nonstop flights from Delhi to Melbourne, starting 27 October 2025. The airline plans three services a week until 28 March 2026, giving travellers a direct link that was last offered in June.
The new schedule matches peak travel between India and Australia, and arrives right before the Australia‑vs‑India T20 match at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on 31 October. The inaugural flight lands in the Victorian capital on 28 October, setting the stage for cricket‑fans heading to the game.
Qantas says the route highlights its commitment to India, one of the fastest‑growing hubs on its international network. The airline also keeps nonstop flights from Bengaluru to Sydney and expands connections across IndiGo and its domestic network.
The planes will be Airbus A330‑200s, each carrying 26 lie‑flat Business Class suites in a 1‑2‑1 layout and 204 Economy seats in a 2‑4‑2 configuration. With three weekly flights, Qantas will add more than 1,300 seats each week between Delhi and Melbourne, and over 30,000 seats over the peak season.
Customers booking a Qantas fare can also take advantage of discounted domestic add‑ons on more than 100 Qantas Explorer routes, making it easy to hop on to Sydney, the Gold Coast, Cairns, or Tasmania after arriving in Melbourne.
Flights are available to book directly through qantas.com/in or any travel agent. All international fares include checked luggage, a meal, drinks and in‑flight entertainment.
Qantas International CEO Cam Wallace said, “We’re thrilled to bring back our nonstop connection between Delhi and Melbourne, just in time for the busy travel season. Direct flights cut travel time dramatically and are perfect for Indian fans heading to cricket events, from the T20 match to the Ashes and Big Bash League later in the year.”
He added that Qantas recently opened new offices in Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru to better serve Indian customers and promote nonstop flights to Sydney and Melbourne. ()
