In Belgorod, a region on Russia’s western border, three people were killed and several more injured after a Ukrainian shelling and drone strike on the settlement of Maslova Pristan, the governor of the region said Wednesday.
Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov posted on Telegram that the attack hit the village in the Shebekinsky District, damaging a social facility and killing three residents, with another wounded. He added that Ukrainian forces had used more than 110 drones and fired over 20 rounds of munitions in the past 24 hours across the Belgorod region.
Grayvoronsky District also saw a strike, with 16 drones and nine munitions hitting residential areas. In the village of Moshchenoye, a truck hit by a drone and a projectile injured six people, including a child. A four‑year‑old girl was taken to a regional children’s hospital; doctors found no barotrauma. Six adults were hospitalized, and one injured patient received outpatient care.
A private home was damaged in a separate drone strike on a motor vehicle, and another civilian was wounded and is now in a hospital. Multiple other spots in the region were reported to have been hit, leaving more people hurt.
The incident underscores the ongoing violence in the Russia‑Ukraine conflict and the toll on civilians in border regions. Key terms to watch include Belgorod, Ukrainian shelling, drone attack, Russian‑Ukrainian conflict, and civilian casualties.
