Patna, Oct. 15 – Former deputy chief‑minister Tejashwi Yadav filed his nomination papers today for the Raghopur seat in Bihar’s Vaishali district, marking his third run from the constituency. The move comes as the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) gears up for the upcoming state elections.
Key details from the nomination
- Tejashwi Yadav reported total assets of about ₹8.1 crore. Movable assets stand at ₹6.12 crore, while immovable property totals ₹1.88 crore.
- His wife, Rajshree Yadav, declared assets of ₹1.88 crore, including ₹59.69 lakh in property.
- Cash on hand: Tejashwi – ₹1.5 lakh; Rajshree – ₹1 lakh.
- The pair hold multiple bank accounts and have joint liabilities of ₹55.55 lakh, shared with Tej Pratap Yadav and mother Rabri Devi.
- Gold and silver holdings include 200 grams of gold and 2 kg of silver for Tejashwi, and 480 grams of gold for Rajshree.
- RJD’s total government dues are ₹1.35 crore, while Rajshree has no outstanding liabilities.
The nomination rally drew thousands of supporters and a full slate of RJD leaders, including Lalu Prasad Yadav, Rabri Devi, Misa Bharti and Sanjay Yadav.
Speaking to reporters, Tejashwi said, “The people of Raghopur have trusted me twice. With my third nomination, I expect their support again. Bihar’s voters are fed up with crime, corruption and unemployment. This time, we’ll bring a Grand Alliance government.” He added, “The JDU is now led by Lalan Singh, Sanjay Jha and Vijay Chaudhary, who have sold out to the BJP. Nitish Kumar’s Janata Dal United is no more.”
Tejashwi first won the Raghopur seat in 2015 and kept it in 2020. His new filing signals a renewed push for the RJD’s revival in Bihar politics.
