In a news brief from Moscow on Nov. 30, local authorities reported that two civilians were killed and two more wounded when Ukrainian drones struck the Belgorod border area. A drone hit a vehicle in Beryozovka village, killing two men on the spot, the regional operational headquarters said. Another drone detonated in Grayvoron district, seriously injuring a man with multiple shrapnel wounds and also damaging a woman who suffered facial burns, Xinhua noted. Authorities later added that five municipalities were hit, causing damage to private homes, cars and outbuildings.
Earlier that day, the Russian Defence Ministry confirmed that its air‑defence systems had intercepted 230 UAVs over the last 24 hours.
On Nov. 28, the Kremlin said the United States had supplied Russia with details of a peace plan following recent talks in Geneva between the U.S. and Ukraine. In a Friday briefing, TASS reported Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov saying, “The key details have been handed over, and discussions will be held in Moscow next week.” Peskov reiterated Russia’s commitment to negotiating a settlement in Ukraine, adding that the country prefers to keep discussions private.
When asked about the settlement terms, he replied, “We don’t want to get ahead of ourselves and hold discussions in this public, megaphone format.” The U.S. and Ukraine discussed the 28‑point peace framework on Nov. 23, with Secretary of State Marco Rubio calling the meeting “the most productive” since the war began.
On Nov. 25, former President Donald Trump posted on Truth Social that his peace plan had been “fine‑tuned” with input from Russia and Ukraine, and that he was sending envoys to both countries to finalize the deal. Trump said only “a few remaining points of disagreement” remained on the updated plan, and that he was looking forward to meeting with President Putin and President Zelensky “but only when the deal to end this War is FINAL or in its final stages.”
