AR-15 allegedly found under Florida college student’s bed after he ordered 1,500 rounds of ammo to dorm

In a still‑unfolding story at Rollins College, a 21‑year‑old senior named Constantine Demetriades was caught shipping a whopping 1,500 rounds of ammunition on campus. Campus security flagged the online order and turned it over to the police, who later discovered an AR‑15, six magazines (one loaded and five empty), a tactical vest, multiple knives, a black security vest, ear protection, and a pistol‑case tucked under the student’s bed. The student, who told officers he “likes to shoot as a hobby,” explained that he had bought and registered the rifle in New Jersey during Thanksgiving break but didn’t realize his concealed‑carry permit didn’t apply in Florida. He admitted that this was the second time he brought the gun to campus. Although Florida permits open carry, Rollins has a zero‑firearms policy on its grounds and has barred the student from the school while its own investigation proceeds. The college said it acted promptly after learning of the violation, worked with law enforcement, and is proceeding with the conduct process. The student has been charged with unlawful possession of a weapon on school property.
