Online auction of gifts received, proceeds to go for Namami Gange: PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is inviting people across India to join an exciting online auction of gifts he’s received over the years. The money raised will support the Namami Gange project, aimed at cleaning and reviving the sacred Ganga River.

In a post on X, formerly Twitter, Modi shared: “Over the past few days, the online auction for various gifts I’ve received during my programs has been going strong. These items showcase India’s rich culture and creativity. All proceeds go to Namami Gange—please join in and bid!”

The auction kicked off on September 17 at 10 a.m., right on Modi’s birthday, and wraps up on October 2 at 5 p.m. You can check out the items on the official PM Mementos website, where bidders have already shown keen interest.

Highlights include a stunning silver model of the Ram Mandir, a detailed Kamdhenu cow with its calf, a model of a traditional cane ship, a handcrafted wooden charkha spinning wheel, and more. Art lovers will spot paintings of the ancient Kailasa Temple at Ellora, a vibrant G20 poster, and a framed depiction of Lord Buddha from Bihar. These PM Modi gifts auction pieces blend history, faith, and Indian craftsmanship.

To get involved, head to pmmementos.gov.in. Just register for a free account and start bidding—it’s an open auction platform run by the Government of India, making it easy for anyone to participate.

This effort ties into the Namami Gange program, a major government initiative launched in 2014 with a Rs 20,000 crore budget. It focuses on cutting pollution, conserving, and rejuvenating the Ganga River. The plan breaks down into quick-start projects for fast results, five-year medium-term efforts, and decade-long strategies to ensure the river’s health for generations.
