Donald Trump has named Dan Scavino to run the White House Presidential Personnel Office, a move announced on his social‑media channel in Washington, DC. Scavino will step in for Sergio Gor, who is now the U.S. Ambassador‑designate to India.

Scavino keeps his post as Deputy Chief of Staff while taking on the new role. He will oversee hiring for most government positions, a key job that Trump says will keep the administration filled with “America‑First” talent. White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt praised Scavino as one of Trump’s most trusted advisers, noting his long service and the quality he brings.

Sergio Gor, meanwhile, has begun his ambassadorial duties in India. He landed in New Delhi on Saturday and held a series of high‑level meetings. First, he met Prime Minister Narendra Modi, then Foreign Minister S Jaishankar and Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, and later National Security Advisor Ajit Doval. In each session, Gor highlighted the goal of deepening strategic ties, boosting defense and trade links, and advancing cooperation on critical minerals—resources vital for future industries.

The U.S. Embassy in India shared photos and quotes from these meetings, emphasizing a strong partnership in the Indo‑Pacific region and a shared commitment to a free and open world. Trump’s announcement underscores a clear line of continuity: Scavino stays at the heart of White House staffing, while Gor moves to strengthen U.S.–India relations.
