Danika Troy suspect’s guardian busted on drug charges on same day as teen’s horrendous murder
The legal guardian of a Florida teenager accused in the brutal murder of 14‑year‑old Danika Troy was arrested on drug charges just hours after the crime, in which Troy was lured into the woods, shot, and her body burned. Jana Williams, 36, who had been the temporary caregiver for the 16‑year‑old suspect Gabriel Williams after his mother died, was taken to Santa Rosa County Jail on allegations of a probation violation and felony drug possession on December 1, according to court papers. Police also said they are examining whether Gabriel used his aunt’s handgun to kill Danika.
Jana had previously been on probation for a drug‑related arrest in April, and her record lists a few traffic, theft, and drug charges from October 2023. The new Santa Rosa Sheriff’s Office filing includes a felony probation violation, felony drug possession, and misdemeanors for a moving traffic violation and possession of drug paraphernalia. She is held without bond.

Gabriel Williams and 14‑year‑old Kimahri Blevins face first‑degree premeditated murder charges for luring Danika into a wooded area in Pace, shooting her, and burning the body. Danika’s mother, Ashley Troy, told The Post that the boys tricked her into going into the woods by claiming that Gabriel had a crush on her, adding, “I’m just left asking why. She just wanted to be in love.”
The two teens are in juvenile detention without bail. An inquiry to the Office of the State Attorney in the First Judicial Circuit Court was unanswered as to whether the suspects would be charged as adults or whether their parents might face charges.
