Kit Harington breaks silence on ‘embarrassing’ kissing scene with ‘GoT’ sibling Sophie Turner in new movie

Kit Harington talks about an awkward “Game of Thrones” moment that turned into a quirky kiss on set for his new film, The Dreadful.
The 38‑year‑old star admitted that there was a short moment of embarrassment when he had to step onto an apple box to kiss Sophie Turner. Turner is about a foot taller, so Harington had to literally be higher to make the scene work. “It felt a little weird,” he told E! News, adding that the awkwardness was only part of a bigger game‑plan: the two actors playing sickly siblings in Game of Thrones were now lovers in a gothic horror thriller.
When Harington and Turner learned that their characters, Jago and Anne, were in a romance, the actor felt “odd” about the shift. He laughed that Turner had sent the movie to him “and didn’t quite see what I saw.” Still, he enjoyed working with Sophie again. “It was so nice to be on set with her and to rekindle our friendship. It felt like being with family,” he said.
The Dreadful takes viewers back to the 15th‑century Wars of the Roses. The story follows Anne and her mother‑in‑law, Morwen, living on society’s fringes until someone from their past re‑enters their lives. The film features Marcia Gay Harden, Laurence O’Fuarain, and Jonathan Howard.
Harington also recently finished the action‑comedy The Family Plan 2 with Mark Wahlberg. “It was gorgeous,” he told E! News, praising Wahlberg’s professionalism and longevity in Hollywood.
For fans of Game of Thrones and new fans alike, the blend of historical drama, eerie romance, and star power in The Dreadful promises a fresh take on the world Kit Harington made famous.
