DHS announces New Orleans as latest city swept in immigration crackdown

Earlier this week, the Department of Homeland Security revealed that New Orleans is set to become the next focus of a sweep targeting criminal illegal immigrants, following similar actions in Los Angeles, Chicago, and Charlotte.

The announcement of “Operation Catahoula Crunch” came a day after the New York Times reported that ICE would launch a separate operation aimed at Somali illegal immigrants in Minnesota’s Twin Cities.

Speaking to the press, DHS spokesperson Tricia McLaughlin said, “Sanctuary policies endanger American communities by releasing illegal criminal aliens and forcing DHS law enforcement to risk their lives to remove criminal illegal aliens that should have never been put back on the streets.”

“It is asinine that these monsters were released back onto New Orleans streets to COMMIT MORE CRIMES and create more victims. Catahoula Crunch targets include violent criminals who were released after arrest for home invasion, armed robbery, grand theft auto, and rape. Under President Trump and Secretary Noem, we are restoring law and order for the American people.”

The announcement also listed ten illegal migrants wanted for crimes ranging from aggravated assault to burglary, child endangerment, and sexual battery.

The suspects are said to hail from El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Jordan, Mexico, and Vietnam.
