Disgraced Florida teacher accused of using Google Docs to groom underage student before alleged sex crimes

In Palm Beach County, a former science teacher has been arrested after investigators claim he used a shared Google Document to secretly contact a student and later carried out sexual acts with her at school and in his apartment.

Elias Gordon Farley, 26, who taught at Donna Klein Jewish Academy in Boca Raton, was taken into custody after the student filed a complaint on Nov. 18. The teenager said her first talks with Farley were ordinary classroom exchanges, but over the summer they started a shared Google Doc where they exchanged messages. According to police, the doc eventually included explicit sexual content and plans for private meetings.

The affidavit says the relationship turned physical in mid‑September, first in Farley’s office where he allegedly touched her under her clothing. She told detectives that they continued meeting for weeks in his office and a classroom. In late September and October, the student claimed they had oral sex, and once even had intercourse inside a classroom on campus.

The teen also reported going to Farley’s apartment twice in early November after recognizing details he’d given of its layout. She said multiple sexual encounters happened during those visits. A search of the apartment uncovered bedding, condom wrappers and furniture matching what she described. Farley’s roommate confirmed he was not home at those times.

Surveillance footage reviewed by authorities matched the student’s story, showing the pair entering Farley’s office together on Nov. 7 and later spending about an hour in a classroom.

The abuse came to light when the student confided in an art teacher on Nov. 14, showing bruises and bite marks she said were from Farley’s touch. School leaders were notified the next day, suspended Farley immediately, and reported the situation to child‑welfare authorities.

After police read him his Miranda rights, Farley declined to speak with detectives. He was booked into the Palm Beach County Main Detention Center on Dec. 4 and is being held on a $500,000 bond.

He faces two charges: unlawful sexual activity with a minor and an offense against a student by an authority figure.

In a statement to Fox News Digital, Donna Klein Jewish Academy said it is fully cooperating with the investigation and called the situation “a difficult time for all of us at Donna Klein.” “We are approaching this serious situation with the utmost care, keeping the well‑being of our students, faculty, and families at the forefront,” a spokesperson told reporters.

The school emphasized that it is working closely with families, teachers, and staff to ensure everyone has the support they need, and that it remains committed to maintaining “a safe, compassionate and educational environment for all.” The spokesperson added that no further details would be released “out of respect for the privacy of our community” and confirmed that Farley is no longer employed by the school.

The investigation is still ongoing. Anyone who has information is urged to contact the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office at 561‑688‑3000.
