Erika Kirk appeared on television for the first time in a quiet, emotional interview after her husband, 31‑year‑old conservative activist Charlie Kirk, was shot dead in a Turning Point USA event at Utah Valley University on September 10.
The segment was aired on Friday during the “Jesse Watters Primetime” preview on Fox News. In the clip, Watters showed a video of Charlie talking about Turning Point USA, the student‑activism group he founded in 2012 to promote conservative values on college campuses.
“Wow, he looks so good,” Erika told the host as she watched the footage. “Sorry, guys, just give me a second. It’s the longest video I’ve watched of him.” She broke into tears, and Watters also got emotional, describing Charlie as an “mission‑oriented” leader who was “on a mission to save Western civilization.” Erika replied that she hadn’t signed up for anything but “married the love of her life.”
The full interview will air on Fox News Wednesday, followed by a multi‑part docuseries on Fox Nation that will explore Charlie’s legacy, the day of the shooting, and Turning Point USA’s future.
While the interview is still pending, Erika has already taken the stage at the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss) for her first campus appearance since the murder. A sold‑out crowd watched her deliver a heartfelt tribute, and she said she can’t stop crying after seeing the video of her husband again. She described being on campus as “a spiritual reclaiming of territory” and spoke about how he feels he wants to reclaim “the territory” of influence.
The case is still under investigation. 22‑year‑old Tyler Robinson of Utah has been charged with first‑degree murder for the shooting. Turning Point USA remains an influential voice in the Republican scene, and its future will be a key topic of the upcoming Fox News coverage.
