“Everybody’s pretty much agreed to it,” says Trump on Gaza peace plan

U.S. President Donald Trump said on Sunday that there is no need to tweak the Gaza peace plan, because everyone involved has already agreed on it.
When reporters asked whether the plan would change, Trump replied that the details are being ironed out and will be finalized “in a couple of days.” He added that the plan is “amazing” and could bring peace to the Middle East for the first time in roughly 3,000 years.

Trump also highlighted that negotiations are in motion to release hostages and end the fighting in Gaza. He emphasized that the deal is a win for Israel, the Arab world, and the Muslim community.

In a tweet, the White House echoed Trump’s optimism, saying there have been “very positive discussions” with Hamas and countries worldwide this weekend to free hostages and end the war in Gaza. The tweet added that these talks could pave the way for lasting Middle East peace.

The President’s comments come amid talks of a possible first‑phase release of hostages sometime this week, a prospect that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu hopes could occur during the upcoming Sukkot holiday.
Netanyahu said the holiday, which begins Monday evening, could be followed by the Simhat Torah celebration, a day that marks the anniversary of Hamas’s October 7 attack.

With the Gaza peace plan already on the table, Trump and U.S. officials are pressing to move quickly to secure hostages’ release and create a new era of stability in the region.
