Exclusive | Beloved Simi Valley woman murdered in driveway with doctor husband is laid to rest

A beloved bookkeeper and celebrated spin‑class instructor who lost her life in a double homicide with her physician husband was buried in her hometown of Simi Valley on Friday.

The funeral for 66‑year‑old Vicki Anne Cordes took place less than two weeks after she and her husband, Dr. Eric Cordes, were shot dead inside the garage of their $1.3 million home by Keith Cordes, Eric’s son.

Friends and family, many of whom wore black, filled Cornerstone Church—where the couple had worshiped—for an 11 am service.

“Vicki brought joy and laughter to all who knew her, with a spirit that was as vibrant and colorful as her love for fashion,” an obituary read.

The Los Angeles native was remembered as a devoted daughter and a nurturing mother to her two children. She is survived by her daughter, who has recently become a grandmother.

The couple shared a loyal dog named Lily and had been together for 18 years, married for four, enjoying countless cherished moments.

Vicki worked as a bookkeeper at a dental office in Reseda and was passionate about fitness, teaching spin and aerobic classes at Gold’s Gym.

“Vicki’s dedication to health and wellness inspired many, as she loved teaching others how to lead active lives,” the obituary continued.

At the service, mourners lowered their heads as Vicki’s body was carried out of the church in a wooden coffin.

“Vicki was known for her infectious smile and fun‑loving personality. She had a unique ability to make everyone feel special, and her huge heart was always open to those in need. Her love for fashion and incessant accessorizing with high heels and bling was a reflection of her vibrant spirit—a true testament to her belief in living life to the fullest,” the obituary wrote.

The tragic murders were carried out as a premeditated attack by 37‑year‑old Keith Cordes, who waited until November 30 to take out his father and stepmother.

A small vigil was left at the house where the couple was killed.

Keith’s remains were later found inside a black Honda Civic that had been set on fire several hours after the killings.

No publicly available information has been released regarding a service for Eric Cordes.
